EDIS is continually enhanced based on your requests. The "comments on circuits" feature has been refined, tested and is now ready for general release; the feature is described below.
Split load distribution boards do not follow the normal distribution board schedule numbering scheme, the RCD's are not "circuits" as such, they do however need to be shown on a distribution board schedule.
EDIS is continually improved and enhanced, since the release of BS7671 18th edition EDIS has had 6 major releases.
Each release has improved the EDIS system for its stakeholders. Most of the features included in the releases are requested by our users. We hope these improve the EDIS experience and enable better, faster, quicker electrical certificates and compliance management.
We give each release an animal name :-), below are some features included in the releases:
Large hospitals and large estates have 100's electrical distribution boards and 10,000's of circuits that need to be inspected and tested. The volume of boards, circuits, test data and observations dictates that a system is required if the work is to be done efficiently and accurately. Without a suitable system, electrical test planning and compliance reporting become unnecessarily time-consuming, inaccurate and difficult. The EDIS system solves this problem.
The 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) came into full effect from the 1st January 2019. An updated version of EDIS was released last week to take the BS 7671 18th edition changes into account.
When creating new EDIS certificates you will automatically be presented with the new format.
In addition to the BS 7671 2018 changes, additional features have been added to the system. For example, the organisation feature that improves contractor efficiency by allowing contractors to configure EDIS to meet their specific needs.
The 650 page BS7671 18th edition was released in July 2018, there are many additions and changes. Fortunately, the electrical installation, condition report and minor works certificates are not widely different from the 17th edition models. The biggest change is in the Minor Works certificate where content has been moved around to highlight the 'presence and adequacy of earthing and bonding arrangements'.
You previously downloaded EDIS Local, the free system for electrical certificates, and may be using it to create your electrical certificates. If you are using EDIS Local, please carefully read this email as it affects the future of the system. If you are not using EDIS Local please unsubscribe by clicking the link below. This is what you should know:
1. EDIS Local will continue to work, but it will receive no further updates and will not be supported.
2. The system is being replaced by a new set of applications - EDIS Excel, EDIS Mobile and EDIS for Windows 10.
EDIS Mobile V2.0 has been released on the Google Play and Apple app stores.

Over the past 2 months we have been making changes to the EDIS system, this release implements changes to the Excel template for electrical test certificates. Because the EDIS templates are going to be changed certificates using old templates will no longer work after the release.
This is a short update on the EDIS changes made over the past 3 months: EDIS continues to improve. The enhancements aim to make the system easier to use; saving you money and time while managing your electrical compliance programmes. Over the past 3 months the following enhancements and features have been rolled out:
