Electrical distribution information is a key part of the building operations
and maintenance documentation. Any change, new installation or statutory
testing requires further information to be generated. EDIS provides an
efficient workflow and document management system that enables the building
electrical engineer, electricians, electrical testers and contractors to
collaborate during the upgrades and testing to the building electrical
infrastructure.
EDIS is a hosted service - which means that you
do not have to be concerned about managing and
maintaining the system and associated hardware.
All you need is access to the internet.
The rest is stored on
secure servers.
The most typical changes required are in lighting circuits, plug
points, new hand dryers, etc. These changes required a minor works
certificate; if the O&M information is correctly updated, it requires further
changes to the distribution board circuits, O&M manuals and drawings.
Finally, this documentation needs to be stored and made accessible for later use.
EDIS captures all distribution board data and final circuit data. If the
infrastructure needs to be tested, the contractor can quote for the job using
real information relating to the installation, allowing an accurate
tendering process. This same information is used by the contractor to
provide the templates required to test the installation. The test results are
finally entered into the system - final certificates are printed onto the
required stationary as well as saving a PDF copy of the data.
