What is EDIS?

EDIS is an internet based system that serves all stakeholders in meeting the electrical compliance challenge.

EDIS is used to manage electrical compliance across the estate. EDIS provides an integrated solution for ensuring electrical compliance - regardless of the number of buildings, geographic distribution or number of electrical contractors. EDIS provides a central web based repository - one version of the truth - for electrical certificates, distribution board schedules, electrical schematics, compliance status, next test dates and much more.

It provides a simple, convenient web based software to create, edit, store and recall all the information relating to electrical certificates and electrical installations. EDIS follows the requirements of British Standard BS 7671 "Requirements for electrical installations".

EDIS is is used to manage the electrical data in buildings, to control the collation and quality of electrical certificates and ensure continuity when key staff or contractors leave.

EDIS is a web based solution for creating and managing electrical certificates. Electricians use EDIS to create electrical certificates, manage electrical testing programmes, reducing paper and making the required information accessible and available to authorised users. Because EDIS is web based the information and certificates can be easily shared with all authorised users- saving time, paper and money.

EDIS follows the format required by BS7671, 2008, Amendment no.1.

EDIS is constantly improving in line with user requests for better usability and process efficiency; some changes are larger than others. The next release of EDIS has undergone a major change. The release will provide enhanced user self service and user rights making it easier to register and request user rights

This release has specifically targeted the most frequent EDIS support requests and aims to eliminate the causes underlying these support requests.
The benefits for you include:

Self registration, any user can self register, but will have no rights any building.
Requests for user rights are workflow driven: Users will request roles and building administrators will approve these requests. EDIS will choreograph the workflow and emails.
Multiple roles for a user: This makes provision for a single user to create an estate, create a building, create and complete a certificate.
More than one building administrator per estate: This provides greater flexibility in the allocation of rights - Building administrators can create and edit building and building contact details: Building administrators will have more control of the details of the buildings in their estates.
